FREE Show / 8:30pm / doors at 6pm
South Austin Moonlighters play an eclectic mix of songs, from heartfelt soul to “sh*t-kickin’ country,” and from funky New Orleans funk to raucous rock-n-roll. Somehow it all comes together; creating a magical essence that has earned the band a loyal following. The music (SAM) shares is a tangible and contagious part of Moonlighters’ shows, which made it effortless for them to quickly build a solid fan base. (SAM) is an amazing example of what can happen when you put a bunch of talented guys in one room with an emphasis on joy and no egos involved. And now be prepared to witness The JOY that is The South Austin Moonlighters! (website)
Clay McClinton’s musical roots are firmly planted in the traditions of his Texas birthplace, where strains of country, blues, rock ’n’ roll and Tex-Mex blend effortlessly into a sound he likes to call “Texas gumbo.” As a kid, McClinton had no idea he’d choose a music career but he knew enough to pay attention when his dad, Delbert, got together with his musical pals, who happened to include fellow Grammy winners Bonnie Raitt, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. The years McClinton spent on his dad’s tour bus also left their mark but even though the occasional vocal inflection or chord change might suggest his dad’s influence - McClinton’s musical identity is distinctly his own. Saturday Feb 6 - Michael Myers
A MERCER STREET FAVORITE
Michael Myers is one of the most exciting country artists to come out of the Lone Star Sate in many years! Born and raised in Dripping Springs, Texas, Michael began singing with his grandpa in church. With encouragement and support from his family, friends and a rapidly expanding fan-base, Michael worked hard to grow as an artist and explore new and exciting styles of country music.  Johnny Gimble, the great western swing fiddler said, "When Michael sings, it hits you right in the gut! The last time I was impressed this way with an upcoming talent was when I first heard Merle Haggard." Come hear this hometown favorite at Mercer Street… (website)
